标准是人类文明进步的成果。作为全球“通用语言”,标准支撑产业发展、促进科技创新、规范社会治理,在便利经贸往来和促进世界互联互通中发挥关键作用,是全球治理和经贸合作的重要技术基础。当前,中医药正加速迈向现代化与国际化。制定中医药标准不仅是突破贸易壁垒、获得国际认可的关键技术环节,也是推动中医药国际化发展的核心要素。本刊特推出“全球化背景下的中医药国际标准化研究与实践”专刊,旨在发表中医药国际标准领域最新的学术研究成果,探讨中医药标准在全球化背景下的实践与创新。

客座主编

沈远东,教授,研究员,现任国际标准化组织/中医药技术委员会 (ISO/TC 249) 主席、“上海标准”评价委员会主任委员、上海市中医药标准化技术委员会主任委员。沈教授在中医药国际化和国际标准化研究领域有着丰富的经验,曾担任世界卫生组织传统医学顾问,负责国际疾病分类编码项目 (WHO ICD11-ICTM) 中国专家组的组织管理工作。

About this Issue

Standards are the achievements of human civilization's progress. As a global “universal language”, standards support industrial development, promote technological innovation, and regulate social governance. They play a crucial role in facilitating trade and promoting global connectivity, serving as an important technical foundation for global governance and economic cooperation. Currently, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is accelerating its modernization and internationalization. Developing TCM standards is not only a key technical step to breaking trade barriers and obtaining international recognition, but also a core element in advancing the internationalization of TCM. This special issue of our journal focuses on the “The Study and Practice of International Standardization of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Context of Globalization”, aiming to publish the latest academic research achievements in the field of international standards of TCM and explore the practice and innovation of TCM standards in the context of globalization.

We welcome original research papers, review articles, and scholarly essays that provide new insights into the above topics from humanities-oriented perspectives, including history, cultural studies, and anthropology. Please note that clinical research and trial reports are excluded from this call.

Guest Editor-in-Chief

Shen Yuandong, an esteemed Professor and Researcher. Presently, he is the Chair of ISO/TC 249, is also the chair of the “Shanghai Standard” Evaluation Committee, and leads the Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Standardization Technical Committee. Professor Shen has extensive experience in the field of internationalization and international standardization of traditional Chinese medicine. He has served as a consultant for traditional medicine of the World Health Organization and was responsible for the organization and management of the Chinese expert group for WHO ICD11 - ICTM project.

Submission Guidelines

The submitted manuscripts for the special issue will be subject to the same peer review process as described in the Instructions for Authors of Chinese Medicine and Culture. The special issue follows the same policies of the journal (ethical approval, data availability and data sharing, preprint policy, etc).

To ensure that you submit to the correct thematic series, please select the thematic series title in the drop-down menu of “The Study and Practice of International Standardization of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Context of Globalization. Manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the highest scientific standards.

You are invited to submit your manuscript at any time before the submission deadline. All manuscript submissions should be 8,000-10,000 words for original articles, 5000-8000 for reviews, and 3500-6000 for perspectives, opinions and book reviews.
