In February 2023, Shanghai Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine established its Standardization Committee to develop high-quality group standards for TCM. These standards are designed to be rigorous and professional, thereby promoting standardization in Shanghai's TCM sector.
The Committee brings together leading experts in TCM standardization in Shanghai. Professor Shen Yuandong, Chairperson of ISO/TC 249, Honorary President of SAIS-TCM, and Honorary Vice President of the Shanghai Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, serves as its Chairperson. Members include renowned TCM masters, academicians, leading TCM figures from Shanghai, and standardization experts from across China.
In 2023, the Association completed registration on the National Information Platform for Group Standards. To date, it has published over 10 group standards and is promoting their implementation in Shanghai and nationwide, with more than 10 standards under development. These efforts represent significant progress in group standardization for TCM in Shanghai.
Moving forward, the Association will continue to advance TCM standardization by integrating industry expertise, developing high-quality standards, supporting the growth of TCM in Shanghai, and contributing Shanghai Wisdom and Shanghai Strength to national and international TCM standardization.
