
Established in 2009, the Committee of Standardization Construction of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) is an academic institution dedicated to research on international standardization for TCM.
The Committee aims to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among organizations and experts engaged in TCM standardization research, enhance academic exchange worldwide, improve the quality of international standardization research, and support the development and advancement of TCM standardization internationally. Its tasks include research on strategic planning for TCM international standardization, advisory services for international standard development, project cooperation, academic exchange, and talent cultivation. Leveraging the standardization platforms of WFCMS, WHO, and ISO/TC 249, the Committee seeks to lead and promote the development of international TCM standards, establish a collaborative international standardization mechanism, integrate global TCM standardization resources, and support high-quality TCM development through standardization.
Following its 2023 council reelection, the Committee now has 86 council members, including 1 Chairperson, 13 Vice-Chairpersons, 26 Standing Committee Members, and 46 Regular Members, 30% of whom are international experts. The Committee has a total of 161 members, including 75 Regular Members.
Under the leadership of WFCMS, the Committee actively promotes TCM standardization both in China and abroad, supporting high-quality TCM development through standardization.
